The Stanford Australia Association (Melbourne)

Is proud to announce our second event in the

Distinguished Speaker Series

Featuring fellow Stanford MBA

Norman Smorgon,

MD, Escor Group

Norman Smorgon is arguably one of the best placed to talk with authority on the subject of family business, with 14 years at the helm of the Escor group, itself tracing its origins back to 1927 through the Smorgon family business. Today, Escor operates as a family office - managing the financial, legal and administrative affairs of the descendants of Eric Smorgon.

Stanford alumni and guests are invited to join us for this unique opportunity to hear Norman share his insights and experience on navigating the challenges that family business present, survival tips and some of his own colourful stories.

The evening will also serve as an excellent opportunity to re-connect with fellow Stanford Alumni and welcome some new members to Melbourne.

Stanford Australia Association

The Stanford Australia Association enables all graduates, students, academics, and faculty of Stanford University, either living or travelling in Australia, to continue the experience that began with their time at Stanford.

We currently serve over 600 members across Australia (these members are from a variety of backgrounds and range from PhDs and degree holders to those who have completed short courses or executive education programs.)

The association is run by a committee of Australian Alumni, with the goal of providing members with anopportunity to develop valuable associations with each other in an enjoyable collegiate atmosphere, a forum for continuous learning, and a link back to Stanford University.
